Mike Colombo
Starting from a broad background in fabrication, carpentry, electronics, interaction design, music performance, visual art, and entertainment, my career has come to focus on Instructional Design for interactive and immersive media.
Most recently, I was tasked with the challenge of creating over 250 simulations for workforce development in virtual reality. From an instructional design standpoint, there was very little precedent for doing so in such a nascent medium.
I led a team to create and codify a system of guidelines and best practices to create effective learning experiences in this medium. I aim to continue to pioneer work within instructional design, across all types of media.
A seasoned collaborator, and divergent/lateral thinker, I thrive in solving challenging design problems. I also hold a Masters degree from NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program.
